Bud Bushnell established Genie Industries in the year 1966, after he purchased the manufacturing rights to a material lift which operated on compressed air. The name Genie came from the "magic in the bottle" which was utilized to lower and raise the hoist. This device really impressed clients and hence, the name was born.
Genie expanded operations and established itself into various new markets, since the need for platforms and work lifts grew. Over time, when the requirements for new machines to meet many applications grew, the company made itself known in many new markets. For example, Genie went into making man-lifts, articulated booms, light towers telehandlers and stick booms.
Genie decided to obtain a partner who held the same values because of the economic slump during the start of the 2000s, when they partnered with Terex. This company has a history obtaining machine manufacturers throughout the globe who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold during 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Because of the Genie name and its solid reputation within the workplace, it was decided to maintain the Genie brand name as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was just decided after the first few years following the sale. Therefore, all Genie machines continue to be marketed under the Genie brand.
Genie takes pride in listening to their clients. The company is dedicated to continually improving quality and efficiency and is also dedicated to lessening waste. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company concentrates on providing outstanding support. These are the very work disciplines which have made Genie a trusted brand name over the last decades and continue to keep their reputation for top-of-the-line and quality machinery.
Genie's Bi-Energy and DC machinery are emission-free, quiet equipment capable of working in delicate work environments. Where the machine must be driven significant distances, like for instance in industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the benefits of a 48V DC machinery with the power of a diesel-powered generator.
Telescopic booms offer greater horizontal reach, compared to any of the various aerial platforms. These machinery are great for small areas or limited access areas in all kinds of settings. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been designed to provide utmost productivity. These machinery deliver the drive speed and supreme traction you need to be able to travel around the work site and job area.
