Used Eagle Picher Rough Terrain Forklifts Glendale

Rough terrain lift trucks are ideal for numerous outdoor construction and loading requirements. Typically, rough terrain forklift models are used to lift stuff like lumber, steel beams, bricks, concrete and other heavy stuff.

There are two key ways that a rough terrain model lift truck varies from the conventional lift truck: they utilize thick treaded, inflatable tires to enable operators to drive them over loose or uneven terrain and they utilize IC engines for their power source.

These pieces of machinery are extremely strong and rugged vehicles. Many models of rough terrain, heavy duty forklifts are capable of lifting several tons of material at the same time. These machinery are carefully calibrated in order to offer a counterbalance at the rear of the lift. This counterbalance is what prevents the load from making the lift tip forward. Certain rough terrain units offer 4-wheel drive and 4-wheel steering. Most rough terrain forklifts use a hydraulic system which is responsible for lowering and raising the forks.

The rough terrain model is almost exclusively powered by an IC engine. These engines offer more power, greater speeds and superior acceleration over the electric engine. There are a variety of different IC engines which run on different other types of fuels. For example, amongst the most common fuel choices for these models include gasoline, compressed natural gas or CNG, liquid propane or LP and diesel. Diesel is the most common kind of fuel and it is also the least expensive, although, it is not as frequently found as gas. Amongst the main advantages of the IC or internal combustion engines is that they really lessen refueling time.

One more extremely essential factor on the rough terrain lift truck is the choice in tire. Rough terrains should have tires that allow for movement across uneven terrain. There are certain rough terrain lift trucks that allow people to drive these machines over snow, mud, ice, rocks and wood, virtually transforming them into an unstoppable machine. The majority of these tires are similar to traditional tires found on trucks and cars and are filled with air, although, certain units are made out of solid rubber.

A rough terrain lift truck is a superior addition to any construction site. These types of machinery allow operators to transport thousands of tons of material over rough and hazardous ground.
