Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie is a Motorized Pallet Truck which is basically a motorized type of a pallet jack. They are available in both "Walkie" models as well as "Rider" versions.
The walkie model as the name implies, is made to enable the operator to walk alongside the machinery while they lift and move cargo. The operator stands on a small platform on the Rider model. The rider models are great for frequent moving of cargo over extended distances in warehouses and manufacturing applications. They are extremely maneuverable and fast.
It is not recommended to lift and transport tall or unstable loads as there are no safety cages on these models. A rider can be the perfect answer if you are looking for a cheap way of transporting loads from point A to point B. If though, you must move heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model might be the right option.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This equipment is specifically designed for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the load and the operator with a purpose to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are typically very narrow aisle vehicles which can operate in aisles of less than six feet. They are extremely useful pieces of equipment in cycle counting situations as well as during physical inventories. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are much more popular.
