What is the Distinction between Pneumatic Tire and Cushion Tire?

Knowing the distinction between pneumatic tire forklifts and cushion tire forklifts is amongst the most common questions about this type of machinery. Each and every tire type is specifically right for different requirements.

Pneumatic Tires have air in them, similar to tires on a vehicle. These kinds of tires are suitable for indoor usage but they are most useful on uneven and gravel surfaces and in outdoor "yard" applications.

Used mainly for indoor applications, the cushion tires are made just like a solid industrial tire. The tire will only be effective outdoors on asphalt surfaces. If you do drive cushion tires outdoors, there is an option to get traction tires on the front of the equipment. These are called the drive tires. The steer tires or the back tires are specially designed for steering. Traction tires located on the back of the forklift would simply wear out faster. Therefore, if you do have to work outdoors, having traction on the front and the smooth tires on the rear would be the most economical and safest way to operate.

What is the difference between Air Pneumatic and Solid Pneumatic tires?

It could be quite tricky when trying to determine the main distinction between the two kinds of tires. They would work well in both in gravel and asphalt situations. The main distinction between the two tire types is solid pneumatics are made of solid rubber. This means you cannot pop, gouge and puncture them since they are strong. These kinds of tires are more expensive than air pneumatic tires because they are made up of way more rubber. These types of tires are best suited for locations like for instance lumber yards and scrap yards where there could be lots of debris or sharp objects on the ground.

Air pneumatic tires could be punctured accidentally. When this occurs, you can get flat tires from them. Before utilizing a forklift with air pneumatic tires, be sure that the yard is free of nails, scrap debris and sharp metals and by checking your work area. In most applications, regular air pneumatic tires work great.
