Utilize a Pneumatic Forklift
Pneumatic forklifts are common in shipping and warehouse operations. Also called pallet trucks or pump trucks, they are used in order to transport materials and things around on wooden pallets utilizing metal forks mounted on a wheeled counterweight. The counterweight contains a pump which lifts the forks off the ground. A pallet truck is intended to be operated by a single person.
To avoid loosing control while lifting heavy loads, pallet trucks should always be operated carefully. Equipment must be checked before operating. Clear the wheels area of any obstacle. Check that the handle smoothly turns. The pallet must be carefully stacked to be able to ensure that nothing will fall off during transportation.
To be able to release air in the pump and lower the forks, squeeze the lever located on the inside of the metal loop on the end of the pallet truck's handle. The forks could then be pushed into the pallet slots. The forks should be centered to guarantee even distribution of the pallet's weight across them. Lift the forks from the ground by pumping the handle of the pneumatic lift until the pallet has cleared the ground completely. Do not raise the pallet too high or the forklift can unbalance.
Move the pallet by pulling on the handle and dragging it behind you. It is really dangerous to push the pallet ahead of you since the momentum could cause it to go out of control. Slowly take turns and don't attempt to stop abruptly. Slowly stop, squeeze the lever, and the forks will lower to the ground. Finally, remove the forks from the pallet by pulling them out. Return the pallet truck to its permanent location.
